Get the point – on your colored pencil, and we’re set and ready to go!
 Colored pencil is a fascinating medium that is extremely versatile. Paintings can be done on almost any paper. If a functional object is desired the paper can be adhered to a surface prior to painting.
As you travel through this website you’ll find painting projects that can be achieved on your own with the aid of a packet of instructions. Design packets lead you from the supplies that are needed for the project, surface preparation instructions, then into the actual painting of the project. If a project is done on a functional surface, finish details will be given. If a project is to be a painting to adorn your walls, then you’ll need to mat and frame.
Packets are designed in beginner, intermediate and advanced level. Whatever your skill level is – there’s a packet for you! For your convenience all beginner level packets are available as a kit. A kit includes: color copy, pattern, instructions, paper and the pencils to complete the project. Some kits will include the wood surface. If you purchase one of the kits you will need to provide:
- Adhesive – if you want to adhere the paper to a surface
- Sponge brush – to apply the adhesive to the surface and paper
- Exacto knife or scissors to trim the paper
- Graphite – to transfer the design to paper
- Pencil sharpener
- 1” – 2” white bristle brush – to dust the pencil crumbs off the surface
- Krylon Workable Fixative – to set the pencils when the painting is done
- Varnish – if a protective finish is needed
Intermediate to advanced level design packets don ’t include the pencils. If you already have Prismacolor colored pencils – then you’re on your way! Order the design packets and begin your painting.
